Jean-Baptiste Maillart is a Teaching Assistant at the Geneva Academy. He is also a PhD candidate at the Law Faculty, University of Geneva. His dissertation is entitled ‘Challenging the Principle of Territoriality in the Context of Cybercrime’.

Jean-Baptiste was visiting scholar at Duke University from September 2015 to August 2016 thanks to a Doc.Mobility research grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). Previously, he was a Teaching Assistant at the Geneva Academy from 2012–2015. He also worked for one year in Blida, Algeria, as the Executive Coordinator of Djazairouna, an NGO providing legal and psychological support to victims of terrorism and aiming to enhance women’s rights.

Jean-Baptiste holds an LLM in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights (summa cum laude) from the Geneva Academy, as well as a Master in International Law (cum laude) and an LLB (cum laude) from University Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
