Evelyne Schmid

Associate Professor of international law at the Université de Lausanne

Evelyne Schmid is an Associate Professor of international law at the Université de Lausanne and a Board Member of European Society of International Law.

Her research interests include positive obligations in international law, economic and social rights, in particular during armed conflicts and their aftermath, and international law and domestic law-making, particularly in multi-level systems.

She was previously based at the Universität Basel, Bangor University and at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies. She also acted as the project coordinator for the International Criminal Court's Legal Tools Project at TRIAL International. She is the author of ‘Taking Economic, Social and Cultural Rights Seriously in International Criminal Law’ (Cambridge Studies in International and Comparative Law, 2015) which received the Christiane-Rajewsky Award in 2016).
