Richard Lapper is a Visiting Researcher at the Geneva Academy. His research, undertaken as part of the UN sabbatical leave programme, focuses on corruption as a violation of human rights.

As a Human Rights Officer at the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), where he has been working for the last 18 years in different positions and on different issues, Richard notably focused on the right to development, good governance, anti-corruption, indigenous peoples, minorities and HIV/AIDS. He also worked in the field operations of OHCHR, primarily on human rights in Europe and Central Asia.

Richard holds master degrees in law and in philosophy.
