Main Functions

The APF Library is a specialized database focused on national human rights institutions (NHRIs) within the Asia Pacific region. It offers a centralized platform for accessing publications and resources that reflect the work of NHRIs in the region. The library includes a collection of thematic publications from these NHRIs, an example of which is the “UN submissions” collection, which helps track national implementation of international human rights obligations.

The Library is available in multiple languages (Arabic, English, and Russian), which makes it accessible to a wide range of stakeholders, and it currently supports content in over 17 languages. Its metadata categorization enables users to explore the thematic priorities of NHRIs in the region through their publicly available work.

The APF library is built on the Uwazi platform from HURIDOCS, which allows it to be flexible to ongoing updates, ensuring that new collections can be added as needed.

Developers/Administrators

The APF Library is developed by the Asia Pacific Forum (APF) with the support of HURIDOCS.

Users

The main users of the APF Library include NHRI staff, as well as UN agencies, civil society organizations, and governments interested in NHRI work. Additionally, it serves representatives of governments considering establishing a new NHRI and researchers or consultants studying comparative NHRI practices across the Asia Pacific region.
