Natia Kalandarishvili-Mueller is a Professor of international law at ALTE University in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Since 2008, Natia has been teaching international humanitarian law (IHL) at the Tbilisi State University, International Law Institute on BA and LLM programmes, delivering lectures and leading seminars alike both in Georgian and English. Natia has also been working with the Law School at the Caucasus University, teaching public international law also in English. In the past, she worked as a Chief Legal Specialist (Adviser) in the line of International Law for the Office of the State Ministry for Reintegration of Georgia (currently the State Ministry for Reconciliation and Civic Equality), having dealt with issues of IHL.
Natia has authored Occupation and Control in International Humanitarian Law (Routledge, 2020). The book has been recently reviewed by Professor Yutaka Arai-Takahashi in the Journal of Conflict and Security Law and by Stefano D’Aloia in the Journal of International Humanitarian Legal Studies.
She holds an LLM in IHL from the Geneva Academy and a PhD in Law from the University of Essex.
